When comparing their tones, the Epiphone Casino gives an aggressive, or raw tone, whereas the Epiphone Sherton gives a smoother tone. Unlike the Epiphone Sheraton, the Epiphone Casino tail-piece gives a semi-vibrato sound. On the other hand, the Epiphone Casino comes with a trapezoid tail-piece. Later, the Epiphone Sheraton II was fitted with a fixed stop bar tail-piece. The earlier Epiphone Sheraton came with a set glued-in neck and a Frequensator tail piece. It can also be seen that the Epiphone Casino comes with a 2-P 90s pick up, and the Epiphone Sheraton has New York mini-humbuckers. When comparing the bridge, the Sherton has a Tune-o-Matic one, and the Casino comes with a fixed bridge. The Epiphone Casinos are lighter in weight when compared to Epiphone Sheraton. One of the main differnces that can be seen between the two guitars is that the Epiphone Casino’s body is completely hollow, whereas the Epiphone Sherton has a semi hollow body. One year later, in 1959, the company started manufacturing Shertons. The Epiphone company started manufacturing Casinos in 1958. Though Epiphone Casino and Sheraton guitars look similar, they are different in many aspects. Casino and Sherton are the top class guitars made from Epiphone.
